France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.14%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.14%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.15%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 1.85% or 0.90 points to trade at 49.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) added 1.77% or 1.26 points to end at 72.54 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 1.77% or 0.82 points to 47.08 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR), which fell 0.88% or 0.12 points to trade at 12.91 at the close. Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) declined 0.59% or 1.40 points to end at 234.20 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) was down 0.45% or 0.12 points to 26.50.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which rose 3.76% to 1.99, Wendel (EPA:MWDP) which was up 2.91% to settle at 93.80 and Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) which gained 2.58% to close at 27.82.

The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was unchanged 4.17% to 0.00 in late trade, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which lost 2.85% to settle at 6.82 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 2.44% to 2.64 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 284 to 180 and 91 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.14% or 3.56 to $2,631.76 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.26% or 0.87 to hit $70.11 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.13% or 0.82 to trade at $73.14 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 108.02.
