Turkey stocks higher at close of trade; BIST 100 up 0.51%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Banking and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.51%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Batisoke Soke Cimento Sanayi TAS (IS:BSOKE), which rose 9.96% or 1.01 points to trade at 11.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:BTCIM) added 8.82% or 0.36 points to end at 4.44 and Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik Dis Ticaret AS (IS:PASEU) was up 7.37% or 2.38 points to 34.68 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Margun Enerji Uretim Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAGEN), which fell 3.20% or 0.74 points to trade at 22.36 at the close. Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK) declined 2.63% or 0.12 points to end at 4.45 and MLP Saglik Hizmetleri AS (IS:MPARK) was down 2.41% or 9.50 points to 385.50.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 297 to 251 and 33 ended unchanged.

Shares in Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik Dis Ticaret AS (IS:PASEU) rose to all time highs; gaining 7.37% or 2.38 to 34.68.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.73% or 20.19 to $2,728.51 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.58% or 1.22 to hit $76.17 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.15% or 0.93 to trade at $79.86 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.38% to 35.56, while EUR/TRY rose 1.77% to 37.04.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.08% at 108.03.
